Sutherland Sharks FC
Precinct Upgrade

A Full Electrical Upgrade

Location: Miranda, NSW
Service: Projects
The Brief

Sutherland Sharks FC engaged Norval Electrical Services directly to deliver a full electrical upgrade as part of their precinct redevelopment. The existing services were to be demolished and replaced with new infrastructure capable of supporting the club’s growing requirements.

The Work

We commenced with a full demolition of the existing electrical installation and established temporary builders’ power for the duration of the construction period.

A new main switchboard with a 400-amp supply was installed, together with distribution boards throughout the precinct. A C-Bus lighting control system was also implemented, incorporating scheduled scenes to provide staff with straightforward, consistent control across the facility.

We then completed the electrical fit-out across all newly constructed areas, including Smithy’s Bar, the Founders Club, gym, canteen, changerooms, merchandise store, offices, and the matchday entrance building.

The project concluded with a full LED sports lighting upgrade, improving both matchday visibility for spectators and playing conditions for athletes.

A dedicated power supply was also provided to the club’s new scoreboard, completed in time for the Australian Championship opener against South Melbourne in front of a record crowd of 3,167.

The Result

The precinct now operates on modern electrical infrastructure designed for long-term reliability and performance.

The C-Bus lighting control system has simplified day-to-day operation for staff, while the LED sports lighting upgrade has significantly improved the matchday experience for fans, players and sponsors.

Andrew Smith, Operations Manager, Sutherland Sharks FC

“Smithy's Bar looks amazing, the gym lighting works great for the boys, but honestly my favourite is what they've done out on the pitch. Hopefully our players can actually see the ball now.

Having the lighting system on my phone has made my life so much easier as well. Saves me time, saves me headaches. Most importantly it saves the neighbours calling council because a coach left the lights on overnight. I can turn them off from the comfort of bed.
